the Challenge
Port Nelson's payroll and time-and-attendance solution comprises three disparate applications (one on-premise, and two web apps, one of which was a bespoke build) which were supported by three separate vendors. The primary application was nearing end-of-life and the lack of integration between the three apps was many adding hours of additional effort for the small payroll team each week, which put them under significant pressure to meet deadlines, especially when manual imports were missing data or failed.
the Solution(s)
Port Nelson engaged DDL to perform a through requirements analysis on their current payroll applications and processes, which were extremely complex due to the variable nature of their workforce and mixed use of the three applications across departments and teams.
DDL documented the current state and undertook a comprehensive market assessment for integrated solutions to meet Port Nelson's integration and functionality objectives. Several potential vendors were identified by DDL, who - through email, calls and interviews worked through a comprehensive set of requirements directly with the vendors and distilled multiple proposals into an end-to-end analysis and recommendations document, based upon which Port Nelson could decide their preferred partner for the future state of this key platform.
